Sushi Chef – Full-Time
Papercut is seeking a Sushi Chef to join our culinary team in Austin. This is a full-time position perfect for a skilled chef or a beginner looking to get into sushi.
About the Role:
- Prepare and present a variety of dishes with attention to detail and consistency
- Maintain food safety and sanitation standards in the sushi preparation area
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure smooth service during peak hours
- Develop and suggest new sushi offerings that reflect seasonal ingredients and culinary trends
- Train and mentor junior kitchen staff on sushi preparation techniques
- Manage inventory and communicate supply needs to management
What We're Looking For:
You have proven experience working as a Sushi Chef or in a comparable sushi preparation role. You possess strong knife skills, knowledge of Japanese cuisine, and a commitment to food quality. A passion for hospitality and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen are essential. However if you have no prior experience in sushi but you have the desire and willingness to learn, we will train you and set you up for success.
